The most common types of hereditary cancer are breast cancer, ovarian cancer, colon cancer and uterine cancer. Although more than 39%1 of people will get some type cancer in their lifetime, remember that hereditary cancers are far less common than random, or "sporadic," cancers. Of all cancer diagnoses, only about 5% to 10% of are hereditary.1
